MARJORIE MIKASEN, Artist
Marjorie
Mikasen
is an abstract, geometric, hard-edge acrylic painter working in Lincoln,
Nebraska. She is the recipient of the Lincoln Mayors Arts Award for Artistic Achievement in the Visual Arts
(2013) and an Individual
Artist Fellowship Award (2007) from the Nebraska Arts Council. Her work
has been featured in solo exhibitions in Nebraska and in over 100 group
exhibitions in 21 states, Canada, the UK, and Hungary. Originally from
Chicago, Mikasen is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Minnesota,
earning a B.A. degree in Studio Arts in 1981. She has worked as an artist in
the Twin Cities and Denver before relocating to Lincoln in 1990. Lincoln Mayor Chris Beutler with Marjorie Mikasen at the Lincoln Arts Council Mayors Arts Awards in 2013 Author Marjorie Mikasen is co-author of two books with Mark
